Global Kids is hiring!

File this one under dream jobs for Machinimists, folks! Global Kids is looking for an Online Leadership Program Associate specializing in video.

While the Machinima teaching I do is in-world, they are actually looking for someone to help with their real life intern program in New York at the Museum of the Moving Image. Named the Virtual Video Project, they meet twice a week. The program works with teams throughout the year to make films to call awareness to issues such as body image and child soldiers.

The specialist would bring their expertise in techniques for storyboarding, editing, and filming. If you're interested in the position, they even put their application materials online. The only question I have is where are these jobs in Texas? I'm so jealous!

Linden Lab is looking for interns

I haven't looked at the Linden Lab Jobs Page in some time now, but recently someone brought to my attention that the number of new job postings has increased dramatically. This includes a part time position for college interns. If you are interested in virtual worlds, have a working knowledge of Second Life, and have 3-6 months free to spend in the beautiful city of San Fransisco, you can apply for this job on the Linden Lab Jobs Page.

Other positions are available, however most of them require that you live in or will move to San Fransisco. While this is not that bad of downside, there are a few In-World Liaison positions available in a telecommute capacity as well.

Wanted: SL Travel Agency Bloggers

Second Life Profiles (basically myspace for Second Lifers) has a job listing for bloggers interested in posting about their favorite places to travel within Second Life. Billing itself as a "travel agency within Second Life for Second Life" tpTravel may have found yet another niche market within the virtual world. More importantly, they pay $10 USD per post. So, if you know the grid like the back of your hand and are comfortable taking snapshots, creating SLurls, and are capable of communicating that in a coherent and thoughtful way, this could be a great way to make a little extra cash. For more information find them on the Slackstreet Sim.

Wanted: Second Life Tour Guides

If you know the grid like you know your own neighborhood Catherine Linden is looking for you. She is looking for people to show the press around the grid. If you want this posh job you can't just ask for it; you have to know your way around and be able to show others around as well.

To apply send Catherine an email with your top 10 places in world and other background info on your in world shenanigans. There is no information on pay or time expectations, but this could be a great opportunity for the right resident. If you think that resident is you apply, and make sure you let us know how it goes.
