New Comic: Le Rendez-vous!

One of the greatest strengths of the SL community is the creativity of its residents. Never will you find a more wretched hive of -- I'm sorry, a more imaginative and giving assembly of artists. Patou Dumont is one such artist, having created a comic using SL as his medium for the title "Le Rendez-vous". (incidentally: NSFW)

This is something I'd like to see more of. I've always enjoyed Our Tat's comics, and of course Plywood while it was still going strong ... but I know it's a metric tonne of work to accomplish. I'll just bide my time and wait for the next thing to come down the pike. More like this, please!

(Thanks, Patou!)

Plywood to Disappear Again?

Okay, this is upsetting me. Go to the Plywood site, and you'll find the above image with the text below reading "Second Life just isn't funny anymore."

Plywood has had a turbulent history, but after its disappearance and subsequent reappearance, I was hoping it was going to be around for a while. Is this page an indication that it's going away forever? Moriash, please contact me and give me the scoop! Am I just being alarmist? Good lord ... WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN?

Plywood Webcomic set to return?

Plywood The Webcomic returns?

Plywood (The Webcomic) was a bona fide phenomenon. Created by Moriash Moreau and Chrestomanci Bard, it was long-running, carried the unique spirit of Second Life, and was genuinely funny. Ultimately, though, it wound down and stopped, and there was a fair bit of sadness about it.

However, for the first time since June 2006, a new strip graces the Plywood web-site. Moriash Moreau provides some explanation on his personal blog. So, Mori ... get to it! Don't make me stop the grid and come back there!

I'm sure every fan of the Plywood webcomic is waiting with fevered anticipation. But, hey, no pressure.

Plywood + Tateru = Love

The amazing Tateru Nino once again surprises us all (even herself, according to her!) with a brand new Plywood comic!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Plywood, you can check out this post and lament with me that an inventive and clever SL-made webcomic is to go the way of the 'Net Dodo. Then, go check out Tateru's creation and rejoice that someone cared enough to play with the format, giving us at least one more chance to say farewell to Genderman.

I wanna be a superhero! Stronger than ban permissions! Faster than update outrage! Able to leap tall parcel barriers in a single bound! Look, up in the sky... it's a prim... it's a glitch... it's... *imagination fails*
